Class 3 – Flammable Liquids
Class 3 Flammable Liquids include liquids, mixtures of liquids, or liquids containing solids in solution or suspension (e.g., paints, varnishes, lacquers) that give off a flammable vapor at temperatures not exceeding 60°C (closed-cup test) or 65.6°C (open-cup test). This class also includes:
- Liquids offered for transport at temperatures at or above their flash point.
- Substances transported at elevated temperatures in a liquid state that give off a flammable vapor at or below the maximum transport temperature.
These substances are identified by Class 3 labels and the Class 3 designation in the appropriate safety data sheets.
